ControlAir App Reviews
I opened it, hit play, lowered the volume a few clicks, raised the volume a few clicks, skipped a few songs, then hit pause. Then I watched for the next two minutes as it slowly caught up to all that input. This on a Retina 5K iMac, not a slow machine. Improve the responsiveness and add some more functions and this becomes a 5-star app. Excited to see how this “Minority Report” style input technology will be applied across the OS and other apps.
I connect my Mac to an external Apple display with built in camera. This app will only use the Mac’s built in camera, which isn’t pointed directly at me. Therefore the product doesn’t work well for me.
Tried to install..didn’t work.
No patience with crappy apps that doesn’t run seamlessly..
THis is amazing.
Im very impressed and this is very useful. I love this
The control panel appears when you raise your finger but the only buttons that respond are the volume controls. Is anyone else having this problem with Spotify on Yosemite? I would realy like this to work as I don’t use iTunes.
During setup the tutorial got stuck on the initial step and never responded to gestures. After quitting and restarting ControlAir it worked fine with iTunes. It’s a bit tricky to get it’s attention again once you shift to another task. Also seems to require quitting ControlAir and re-launching once iTunes goes into the background. But it shows a lot of promise for gesture control using existing hardware. Keep developing and improving this, ESPECIALLY give us an iOS version, please!
Doesn’t Even Work
This is bad. The app won’t even do anything when I try to do the tutorial!
cannot choose camera
the app works fine, but there is a key feature missing, SELECT CAMERA that figures out the gestures. when used on a single monitor device it works.
Spotify does not work
Cannot get spotify to work
This application is amazing. Concept is just great. It’s the next step for technology, not even touching your computer anymore. Reliability drops dramatically when in low-light conditions, but that’s understandable. Maybe if we can have more option and supported apps. Like iBooks, swiping your hand to flip pages. Or maybe Safari, scrolling options. Just suggestions. Keep it up!
awesome
love it please add more app to supports this like safari or something eles plz
Good, but need to add more apps!
I like it, but it doesn’t work for Pandora, or radio within iTunes.
I was able to use it really well for 10 minutes. Now it doesn’t respond to any of my gestrues. I have reset my computer and closed and open the app numerous times. It seemed like a realy cool concept to use the computer without touching it. I hope this big gets fixed soon
Fails to start tutorial
After clicking the start tutorial button the app crashes. There is no way to bypass the tutorial either. I’m running a 2013 MBP with the latest IOS.
Great!
One of the best and most creative apps i’ve ever seen but there’s still a little room for some improvement
Impressive
This is pretty cool. I’m looking forward to the future of this technology!
Great App
It works great with my iMac 2014 OSX 10.10 i5 8gb ddr3.
The only issue with it is that it took quite a while to learn how to use CORRECTLY. I could only switch between one or two songs, but then realized if I highlighted all of the songs in Itunes, I could go through all of my songs without a problem. I also eventually figured out where exactly to put my finger so that the camera would see it. So, in summary, it takes A LOT of getting used to, but can be learned and used easily. :)
Model: Macbook Air 13 inch, 2014 When I first got this app I was very skeptical about it ACTUALLY working. After some use I have found myself stunned. I works! And very well for that matter. It is very helpful when I am jamming to some tunes and I get a call. I simply hold up my finger and make a shhing gesture and it mutes the music. I would recomened this app to anybody loooking for a useful way to control there music.
you’ll be holding your finger waving it around or keeping it still waiting for the program to recognize it and be wasting your time. does not work well at all, cool concept but not ready for use
