A great concept, but doesn’t work

I used this app a while ago with my underperforming mac from 2007. I have since upgraded to a beast of a computer, but after reinstalling and starting up and closing down iTunes several times, even doing the same to ControlAir, the camera just doesn’t activate.
It’s definitely not the lighting, since I have a bright LED lamp. I just don’t know why it isn’t working. Maybe it’s the camera? Maybe it’s the fact this app doesn’t work with 10.11?
