Cool, but MacBook Users Beware
I could not believe that this waas even an app when I learned about this. My mind was blown away. It looked so cool, but as I clicked download, I knew that there would be problems.
Obviously a cool idea and generally a good app, but it seems to be better for desktop users. I use a 2011 MacBookPro, and I don’t always use it on a desk. Sometimes the laptop is in my lap or I’m lying on the ground and using it. Because of this, it doesn’t work. And here’s why:
Upon setup it asks you to adjust your camera so that your head is in some sort of a “circle". Because the position of a desktop is permanent, this works great, but it’s an inconvenience for people who use their laptop in different positions or don’t always open it up the same way. Sometimes while I was using this it would think my head was an index finger because I had adjusted my position or camera angle and my head was no longer in the "circle”. Sometimes my index finger would be in the “circle” so it wouldn’t read, thinking it was my head.
This probably works better on desktops, but definitely not laptops. Oh well, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. I use this quite a bit and I love it. And the idea is still really awesome.
